Hello, I’m Diana Akatwijuka, CEO & Founder of Tokyo Lingo.
At Tokyo Lingo, we are committed to building meaningful pathways to Japan for both international students and aspiring professionals. Through structured Japanese language training, JLPT preparation, academic placement support, and guidance through visa and relocation processes, we help individuals confidently pursue their goals in Japan.
In addition to supporting students, we also work with motivated workers seeking professional opportunities in Japan. From language preparation and examination guidance to employer coordination and transition support, our role is to ensure that every candidate is fully prepared for success.
What drives me most is seeing the transformation in the people we support gaining confidence, passing examinations, securing admissions or employment, and building independent lives in Japan. Their growth and success are the heart of Tokyo Lingo.
My Story
I am Kenyan by birth and Japanese by naturalization. Having been raised in a humble background, I understood early on that education was the key to transforming my future.
I studied Japanese at Kenyatta University in Kenya alongside my degree in Analytical Chemistry. After passing the JLPT N5, I was honored to receive the JASSO scholarship for an exchange program at Akita University in Japan. During my time in Akita, I deepened my understanding of both the Japanese language and culture.
In 2013, I began another chapter at Hiroshima Jogakuin University, where I studied Global Studies in English while continuing my studies in Japanese culture. During my time there, I was privileged to receive three private scholarships as well as a 100% school fee waiver support that affirmed my dedication and academic commitment.
Living and studying in Japan shaped not only my career path but also my identity and purpose. The discipline, language foundation, and cultural understanding I gained became the pillars of my journey.
Through these experiences, Tokyo Lingo was born in 2021 a bridge between cultures and opportunities. What began as a vision to create access has grown into a hub that supports international students and professionals seeking education and career pathways in Japan.
Creating opportunities and changing lives is not just my work , it is my calling.
